Louisiana Justice Coalition Launches New Website
September 25, 2021
The Louisiana Justice Coalition launches its new website today, calling attention to the many improvements made since the passage of the Louisiana Public Defender Act of 2007 while still advocating for improved resources to bring Louisiana into compliance with its Constitutional obligation to provide the right to counsel to eligible defendants.
The Louisiana Justice Coalition remains committed to its mission to protect the constitutional right to counsel and ensures the respect and dignity of each practitioner and every client by improving the delivery of public defense services and creating a receptive climate for positive change.
Through public education, media outreach and technical assistance to the field, LJC remains an advocate for a fair and efficient public defense system in Louisiana and continues to promote compliance with the American Bar Association Ten Principles of a Public Defense Delivery System in all 42 district public defender offices in Louisiana.
